Licence terms
What you can do with a resource you have bought, written plainly.
The short version
Buy it once, use it with your own students for as long as you teach. Print it, put it in your class Google Classroom, use it year after year. Just do not pass it on to another teacher or put it anywhere the public can reach it. If your school wants it for everyone, there is a school licence for that.
The detail below is the version that counts, but it should not contain any surprises.
Single classroom licence
Every resource in the store is sold with a single classroom licence unless the product page says otherwise. The licence is granted to one named teacher, it begins when your payment clears, and it does not expire.
You may
- Use the resource with the students you teach
- Print as many copies as your own students need
- Save it on your own devices and back it up
- Share it with your own students through a closed platform such as Google Classroom, Seesaw or your school's learning management system, where only enrolled students can reach it
- Use it again in later years, with new classes
- Use it in your own planning, programming and accreditation evidence
- Adapt or annotate your own copy for your own teaching
You may not
- Give, send, sell or lend it to another teacher, including a colleague at your own school
- Put it on a shared staff drive, a public website, social media, a blog or an open learning platform
- Upload it to a file sharing or resource sharing site
- Sell it, or include any part of it in something you sell or give away
- Present it as your own work, or remove the Term Talk name from it
- Use it for whole school professional learning without a school licence
If you job share or team teach: the licence covers the class, so both of you may use it. If you each teach a different class, you each need your own licence.
Whole school licence
A school licence covers every teacher at one named school, on one campus. It suits a stage team, a faculty or a whole staff using the same resource together. Everything in the "you may not" list above still applies beyond the school itself: a school licence does not allow the resource to be shared with another school, posted publicly or passed to a network or association.
To be decided: the price of a school licence and whether it is bought from the product page or by emailing us. Until that is settled, schools should email support@termtalk.com.au.
Who owns the resource
Copyright stays with Term Talk Pty Ltd. Buying a resource buys you the right to use it as described above. It does not transfer ownership of the work, and it is not exclusive to you.
The licence is personal to the teacher or school that bought it and cannot be transferred. If you change schools, your single classroom licence goes with you, because it belongs to you rather than to your employer.
Your download
Your download link is personal to you and expires, so save the file somewhere you will find it again. The licence itself does not expire. If a link runs out before you have saved the file, email support@termtalk.com.au and we will send a fresh one at no cost.
If these terms are broken
Sharing a resource beyond this licence ends the licence. In practice, if we notice a resource somewhere it should not be, the first thing we will do is get in touch and ask for it to be taken down. Most of the time this is a misunderstanding rather than anything deliberate.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page for resources sold in future. Changes never apply backwards. The terms that cover a resource are the ones published on the day you bought it, so a later edit cannot reduce what you already paid for.
Questions
If something here is unclear, or your situation does not fit neatly into either licence, email support@termtalk.com.au. A real person reads it.
